The first evidence of the use of the thermal waters of Caramanico dates back to the 1500s when travelers described the therapeutic effects of the sulfatara present in Villa Santa Croce.

After World War II, the establishment experienced a crisis, but in the 1950s it was renovated and expanded, solidifying its importance in the thermal sector.
