The Fontecchio Thermal Baths have been known since Roman times, when Pliny the Younger brought his wife Calpurnia there to maintain her beauty and grace. In 1860, the ruins of the ancient spring were rediscovered, and in 1868 construction began on the current thermal establishment, designed in Renaissance style by the Perugian architect Guglielmo Calderini.

The project by architect Calderini has given the building a neoclassical appearance, making it a historical and architectural landmark in the region. The surrounding area features a centuries-old park rich in natural springs and forests, providing an ideal environment for wellness and relaxation.
