History
The discovery of the thermal waters of Saint-Vincent dates back to 1770, when the abbot Jean-Baptiste Perret noticed that the cows in the mountain pastures were attracted to a spring that flowed from a micaceous rock. Analyzing the water, Perret found it rich in bicarbonate, carbonic acid, sodium sulfate, and chlorides, attributing to it diuretic and purifying properties./p>
In 1779, engineer M. de Buttet and Dr. Gioanetti confirmed the interest in the spring, which produced a flow rate of 360 liters per day. In 1792, Perret donated the rights to the source to the parish of Saint-Vincent. Subsequently, in 1820, engineer Despines from the Pesey mines discovered a second deep spring that produced an additional flow of 176 liters per day./p>
Over the years, the Saint-Vincent Thermal Baths have attracted numerous illustrious visitors, including Queen Margherita of Italy in 1898, and have undergone several renovations and expansions to improve the services offered. In 2012, the new spa facility, managed by the Bonatti group from Parma, reopened, offering modern facilities and cutting-edge services./p>
Therapeutic Information on the Waters
The thermal waters of Saint-Vincent are classified as bicarbonate-sulfate-alkaline-bromine-iodine-carbonic, with a fixed residue of 7350 mg/l and a high concentration of hydrogen bicarbonate and sulfates, along with small amounts of bromine and iodine. These characteristics make them particularly effective in treating various pathologies./p>
Hydroponic therapies, or the ingestion of thermal water by mouth, are indicated for disorders of the digestive system, such as gastritis, duodenitis, constipation, and colitis, as well as for liver insufficiency, aftereffects of viral hepatitis, inflammation of the biliary tract, obesity, diabetes, and uric syndromes. Inhalation therapies, which involve inhaling thermal water in the form of steam or aerosol, are effective in treating respiratory tract diseases, both upper and lower./p>
Furthermore, the thermal water of Saint-Vincent performs a balancing and regulating action against secretory dysfunctions of the liver and intestines, promoting gastric and intestinal mobility, stimulating bile secretion, and emptying the gallbladder. These properties make it a natural remedy for a wide range of disorders related to the digestive and metabolic systems./p>
