Champneys Henlow Grange Health Spa is located in the heart of Bedfordshire, set amidst 150 acres of manicured parkland and gardens. This resort offers a complete wellness experience, combining classic elegance with modern facilities for the relaxation and health of its guests.
The main building is a majestic Georgian residence that retains its traditional charm, featuring elegant interiors and a bright conservatory that offers panoramic views of the River Hiz and the surrounding gardens. Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a fully equipped gym, and a wide range of spa treatments.
History
Originally, the site housed a Cistercian monastery. In 1960, Leida Costigan, an Estonian beauty specialist, and her husband acquired the property, transforming it into a 'health farm' that welcomed six guests at a time.
In 1981, the founders of Champneys, Bob and Dorothy Purdew, acquired Henlow Grange. In 2018, the facility underwent a complete renovation, blending classic elegance with a modern, contemporary design while maintaining the exceptional character of the original building.
