The city is situated on three hills, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding hills.

Among the traditional dishes, 'nduja, a spicy salami highly appreciated even outside the region, and morzello, a stew of veal offal served on focaccia or bread, deserve attention. Furthermore, thanks to its proximity to the sea, local restaurants offer dishes made with fresh fish just caught.
