History

The history of Caronte Thermal Baths began in 1716 when Giovanni Galeano Cataldi obtained a lease of certain lands in the Municipality of Sambiase, where the Caronte thermal spring was located. The management and enhancement of the spring have continued through the generations of the Cataldi family, with significant interventions such as land reclamation, renovation of existing buildings, and the construction of thermal baths and lodgings. Over the centuries, the baths have received recognition for the quality of their waters and treatments offered.

Therapeutic Information on Waters

The waters of Caronte Thermal Baths are of the sulfureous-salty-bromo-iodine type and flow from the spring at a constant temperature of about 39°C. These waters are particularly indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases, such as chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, and rhinitis, thanks to their decongestant and anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, they are effective in treating rheumatic and joint diseases due to the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of sulfur, as well as dermatological disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, and acne, thanks to sulfur's purifying and antibacterial properties.
